Survey Monkey’s research targeting four countries namely - India, the UK, the US, and Italy, reveals that Indians are those spending more time on mobile internet compared to other western countries. The survey reveals that almost 60% of the Indians spend over 20% of their Internet time on mobile rather than PC. Indians top the list of people who downloaded more mobile apps each month compared to those others globally. More interesting information the survey shared is that among the overall smartphone users worldwide, over 20% of their Internet time is spent on mobile. A study byCapgemini brought to light that Indians spend more of their time on online shopping than they do in a physical store purchase. This raises hope for ecommerce business owners in India, and also tends to share the belief rendered by online presence for those retailers who lack it.
The reason I think should be because of a faster mobile Internet access compared to the enormous loading time taken while using a PC or laptop. Whereas look at a completely different version of this survey by yet another one conducted by Ernst & Young. Their survey reveals that “38% stopped mobile website Design browsing, for the fear of overspending or because they didn't understand the different pricing options”. That’s probably due to the humpty number of options available here with increasingly complex price plans with/without offers, and I too was a victim!
What I think is that shopping is so much online over metropolitans and cities in India and as far as other areas are concerned technology is still in the developing phase (or) often ignored due to ignorance.

Yahoo’s focus shift towards mobile platform

Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer has got big plans for mobile and she has also announced that. She aims to make Google a ‘mobile-first’ company.
Marissa says – “Our top priority is a focused, coherent mobile strategy. I think that there are going to be a few big players in the mobile search space, and I think Yahoo should definitely be one of them.”
Marissa is all set to launch a mobile friendly Yahoo.com site all optimized for easy navigation while usage within mobile devices. Previously, the companies’ mobile brands were all dispersed across various applications and channels, now going to get streamlined, shares Marissa.
